A dog's attempt at getting a morning cuddle with his owner has tugged at the heartstrings of viewers on TikTok.
The dog, an American XL bully, was filmed dragging their blankets up a flight of stairs to join their owner in bed for some morning snuggles. Little did the canine know that his owner would have to be up and out the door soon to head to work. The adorable mix-up has taken TikTok by storm, with the video, shared by @ellandcosta, racking up more than 165,000 views and over 21,000 likes to date.
Viewers were able to see the dog making his way up the flight of stairs with blankets in his mouth, seemingly preparing for a cozy morning. However, there is a catch—it is Friday, and his owner has to work.
An overlaid text on the video read: "When your dog brings his blanket upstairs for morning snuggles … But forgets it's Friday and mom has to go to work."
"Sorry mate, one more day then we can have a lazy morning together," the owner said.

Although several XL bully dogs have attacked people, leading to stringent regulations surrounding their ownership in the U.K, the breed can be affectionate and loyal in nature. Their love for cuddles and being close to their owners is well documented, making the video even more endearing for pet lovers familiar with the breed's temperament.
The clip captures the relatable struggle between wanting to stay in bed with a beloved pet and the reality of weekday responsibilities, a sentiment that has resonated with thousands online.
"[The amount] of times I've called in sick just to lie in bed with my dog," one viewer posted.
Another added: "Aw what a beauty, just like my dog loves her cuddles and blanket in bed."
"My dog brings the cushions for morning snuggles," a third viewer commented. "I hate it when we can't have a snuggle."
"This would make me late every single day because how do you say no," one comment read.
"I'd so be late for work to give him cuddles," another added.
"Get in that bed right now and call in sick," one viewer commented.
Another posted: "Your boss actually told me that you can go in later."
